Brandon-Evansville jumped out to a 10-0 lead on Tuesday night and went on to post a 70-44 win over Hillcrest Lutheran Academy.

“We played fast, and with intensity tonight on both ends of the floor,” stated Brandon-Evansville Head Coach Trent Hintermeister. “I'm happy with the way we executed in the full court defensively. We tried to keep the ball in front of us while putting pressure on their ball handlers, and I'm happy with how it turned out. Offensively we had balance again with 10 guys scoring. I'm happy with our first game of 2020. Now we have to get ready for a tough Ashby team on Friday night.”

Marshall Riedel was the scoring leader for the Chargers with 17 points.  Keagan Schiele and Titus Fuller added 14 and 12 points, respectively.  In all, ten players scored for B-E in the game.

Leaders for Hillcrest were Evan Gould with 11 points and Thomas Zwiers with 9.

“Tough one at Brandon tonight,” said Hillcrest Head Coach Ryan Garvin. “They did a great job of maintaining the tempo that they wanted to play. We had a hard time getting any consecutive stops and struggled, when we did have a decent possession, to put the ball in the basket.  We struggled with turnovers again tonight and Brandon did a great job turning those into transition baskets.”

Brandon-Evansville (7-2) will host Ashby on Friday night, while Hillcrest (1-5) plays at Underwood on Thursday and at home against Park Christian on Saturday.
