Otter Girls Win Tenth Straight Game

Fergus Falls traveled to Bemidji on Friday night where they handed the Lumberjacks a 70-49 loss in a high school girls’ basketball contest.  The Otters shot 50% (17-34) from the field and made 52% (10-19) of their three-point attempts.

Ellie Colbeck scored 25 points to lead the Otters.  She was joined in double figures by Tori Ratz with 16 and Sabrina Fronning with 14.  Ratz, Fronning and Anna Anderson led the team with 5 rebounds each and Paige Pearson contributed 5 assists, 3 steals and 4 blocked shots.

Bemidji was led by Emily Wade with 11 points.

Bemidji trailed 40-23 at halftime and the Otters built a 25 point lead at one time in the second half.  The Lumberjacks cut the lead to 13 before the Otters increased it to 21 at the end of the game.

The win was the tenth in a row for Fergus Falls.  The Otters will play at St. Cloud Tech on Tuesday and will return home to host Sartell on Friday night.

The Otters dropped the JV game 38-37 with Ainsley Hansen scoring 10 points.  Fergus Falls won the 9th Grade contest 39-30, led by 17 points from Cyntreya Lockett.
