Four Pelican Rapids players were in double figures on Friday night as the Vikings posted a 74-57 win over Wadena-Deer Creek.  The Vikings held a 42-22 halftime lead.

“We did a nice job in the first half of letting our defense get our offense going as we were able to get some stops that got us out into transition,” said Pelican Rapids Head Coach John Gullingsrud. “We were able to extend our lead early in the second half but lost our defensive intensity as the half wore on. Overall this was a good win for our guys against a sub-section opponent.”

McHale Korf led the Vikings with 14 points and Logan Fahje finished with 13.  Jayden Rutherford and Liam Sytsma each contributed a dozen.

Wadena-Deer Creek was led by 17 points from Payton Rondestvedt and 14 from Cooper Folkestad.

Pelican Rapids (6-3) will play at Park Rapids on Monday night and at Frazee on Thursday before hosting Rothsay on Friday night and playing Battle Lake on Saturday afternoon at Concordia College in Moorhead.

The Wolverines are now 4-4 and will host Henning on Tuesday night.
