The Ashby Arrows Boys Basketball Team participated in the first round of the Perham Holiday Tournament Friday afternoon and were defeated by the Sauk Centre Mainstreeters 78-72.  The Arrows enjoyed a 36-32 lead at halftime but were outscored 46-36 in the second half.

Three Arrows reached double figures in scoring.  Hunter Norby led the way with 23 points including 15 in the second half.  Torin Olson was next with 22 points and Jacob Cook contributed 17.  Jaden Norby scored six and Noah Johnson and Bobby Anderson each scored two points.  Making solid contributions without entering the scoring column were Ashton Ecker and Derrek Bartz.  The Streeters were led by 7' Colorado State recruit Jacob Jennissen and senior guard Logan Sueflow who each scored 27 points.

“We played well for long stretches of the game but didn't execute at a high level at the end as Sauk Centre turned up their defensive intensity and made 9 of 10 free throws when we were forced to foul,” commented Ashby Head Coach John Holsten.

The Arrows overall record drops to 4-3.  They travel to Battle Lake Thursday for their next game.
