The Fergus Falls girls’ hockey team posted a 2-1 overtime victory over Academy of Holy Angels on Thursday afternoon at the A/C Flyers Holiday Classic at the New Hope Ice Arena.

“Our forecheck was relentless, producing numerous great chances,” said Fergus Falls Head Coach Tim Lill.  “We outworked them for four periods and then got paid by Vivian Karsnia.”

The Otters struck first when Talia Nelson found the back of the net at 3:40 of the first period.  Gabby Brimhall and Jadyn Bye assisted on the goal.

Holy Angels pulled even on an unassisted goal by Ava Dean at 5:24 of the second period.

Following a scoreless third period, Karsnia netted the game winner at 3:06 of overtime, from Lexi McGary and Piper Andrews.

Lexi Metcalf stopped all but one Holy Angels shot on goal.
