Fergus Falls Nordic Skiers Host Home Meet at Spidahl's

The Otter Nordic Ski Team hosted their home meet at Spidahl’s Ski Gaard on Thursday, December 19. 

As a team, the Otter boys’ placed third out of five teams, scoring 348 points.  Bemidji won the meet with a score of 390 and Brainerd was second with a 370.  Alexandria and Detroit Lakes tied for fourth with a score of 326. 

The Fergus Falls girls’ team was fourth out of five teams, scoring 304 points.  Alexandria won the event with a score of 386.  Bemidji was second (370) and Brainerd was third (366).  Detroit Lakes placed fifth with 266 points.

“We had a beautiful day at Spidahl’s and the team performed well,” said Head Coach Joshua Scharnberg.

Tucker Henkes placed third out of 40 skiers individually and Anders Anthonisen-Brown was fifth and David Ronnevik placed fifteenth.

Annie Mayer placed in the top twenty for the girls, taking 19th place out of 42 skiers.

Oliver Thorson led the Fergus Falls boys JV team, placing 19th out of 39 skiers.  The JV girls team did not have enough skiers to place as a team.  Sarah Grotberg was fifteenth individually and Shelby Tabbut was 19th out of 33 skiers.

The Boys’ junior high was second out of five teams and their top finisher was Tommy Erickson in third place.  Jackson Lysne took fourth, Logan Bredenberg was eleventh and Jon Krava placed nineteenth out of 56 skiers.

The Girls’ junior high team was fourth with Naomi Dummer and Alexis Wellman placing eleventh and twentieth, respectively, out of 64 skiers.
