Saturday morning the girls played in Crookston and put up a double-digit number in the goals column. Rachel Debrito and Shay Katzenmeyer both scored twice for the Otters. Six other Otters also scored in the game; Atley Duckwitz, Katie Bergren, Hannah Johnson, Brook Zierden, Olivia Jurgens, and Abygehl Schuman. The Otters went on to win convincingly, 10-2 over Crookston. Johnson, Debrito, Schuman, Grace Lappegaard, and Zierden all recorded an assist during the game. Katzenmeyer and Bergren got a pair of assists.

The Otters packed up and traveled to Moorhead, Saturday afternoon to take on a very tough Moorhead Black team.

The Moorhead Black team came out making a statement, scoring 4 times in each of the first two periods, before capping off the third period with one more goal, shutting out the Otters 9-0. Avery Schuetz for Moorhead scored four goals and recorded an assist.

One of the highlights of the weekend was before heading home Saturday evening, some of the Otter girls had the opportunity to take their picture with former NHL star, Matt Cullen. Cullen, a Minnesota native, played over two decades of professional hockey, four of those years spent in Minnesota playing for the Wild.

Sunday morning the girls came ready to play as they faced the Moorhead Orange team. The Otters had a great bounce back game as they went on to defeat Moorhead Orange by a score of 4-1. Getting the Otters on the board first was Ella Sem, as she was assisted by Ava Noon and Kalysta Arndt. Moorhead came back with a goal of their own, tying it at one all with ten minutes to go in the second period. The Otters went on to answer with two more goals of their own before the second period came to an end. Debrito scored, unassisted, and Katzenmeyer added one more goal as she was assisted by Johnson. The lone goal in the final period came off the stick of Schuman as she was assisted by Debrito.

The Otters are 5-2 so far on the season and look to improve on that mark as they play this Friday in Detroit Lakes.
