Otters Hold Off Second Half Rally by Storm for 63-62 Victory

The Fergus Falls boys’ basketball team led by as many as 28 points on Tuesday night, held a 43-23 halftime lead and then held off a fierce second half charge by Sauk Rapids-Rice to claim a 63-62 victory in what turned out to be a Central Lakes Conference nail-biter at the Kennedy Secondary School Gold Gymnasium.

The Otters made 50% (24-48) of their field goal attempts in the game and connected on 42.9% (9-21) of their three-point attempts.

Fergus Falls was led by Dominic Aguilar (17 points, 8 assists, 2 steals, 6 rebounds).  Chance Fazio (15 points, 5 rebounds, 4 blocks) and Ethan Olson (14 points, 5 rebounds) were also in double figures.  Brock Kotschevar chipped in with 7 points and 4 assists and Parker Jacobs added 3 assists.

The Storm shot 44.7% (21-47) on the night and made 10-of-20 (50%) from beyond the arc.  The Otters held a 32-29 edge on the boards.

Fergus Falls (4-1) has a makeup game at Moorhead on Friday night.
