The Vikings were led by Tanner Tollerud (17), Jayden Rutherford (13), Timmy Guler (13) and McHale Korf (13).

“This was a good win for our guys against a well-coached and disciplined Ashby basketball team,” stated Head Coach John Gullingsrud of the Vikings. “We had a balanced scoring night placing four guys in double figures and we shot the ball better than we have so far this season as we made eleven threes. We also played better defensively for longer stretches at a time, and that was a key in getting us into the open floor which led to better looks at the basket for us.”

Leading scorers for Ashby were Torin Olson with 14 points and Hunter Norby with 12.  Norby also grabbed 9 rebounds and Noah Johnson dished out five assists.  The Arrows shot 31% (16-51) from the field, including 25% (5-20) from the three-point line.

“The guard play for Pelican Rapids was outstanding,” noted Ashby Head Coach John Holsten.  “They presented problems for us both offensively and defensively.”

Ashby (3-2) will host Swanville on Thursday night.

Pelican Rapids (3-2) will host Hawley on Thursday.
