The Henning boys’ basketball team took a 37-16 halftime lead and then outscored Battle Lake 39-12 over the final 18 minutes to secure a 76-28 victory, remaining undefeated on the season with a record of 6-0.

Parker Fraki had a big night for the Hornets, sinking 9-of-12 3’s (75%) and 14-of-19 (73%) overall field goal attempts on the way to a 38 point performance.  Fraki also had 4 rebounds, 3 steals and 5 assists.  Blaine Wallevand added 12 points, 7 rebounds, 2 steals and 3 assists.  Blake Wallevand and Isaac Fisher each contributed 10 points with Wallevand leading the team with 8 rebounds and 4 steals.  He also dished out 4 assists.

“It was so fun to see Parker shoot the ball like he did tonight,” commented Henning Head Coach Randy Misegades. “He has struggled shooting the ball in the early part of the season, but that certainly changed tonight. It was fun to watch. The best part about our team is that it seems to be a different guy each night.”

Battle Lake was led by 9 points from Brennan Amundson.

“Henning was rolling tonight,” said Battle Lake Head Coach C.J. Peeters.  “We have a lot of time now to fix some things.”

Henning shot 53% (28-52) from the field and made 53% (15-28) of their three-point attempts.

“Our upcoming schedule is the toughest we’ve had in my 15 years,” said Coach Misegades of the Hornets. “We are excited for the challenge.”

Henning will play Waterville-Elysian-Morristown on Friday, December 27 at St. Cloud Apollo High School and will follow that game with a game against BOLD on Saturday, December 28 at St. John’s University as part of the Granite City Classic.

Battle Lake (0-5) will be off until Thursday, January 2 when they host Ashby in a Little Eight Conference boys’ basketball matchup.
