Yellowjackets Remain Unbeaten with Win over Breckenridge

Perham defeated Breckenridge by a score of 64-43 in a Heart O’ Lakes boys’ basketball game on Friday night. The halftime score was 41-14, Perham.

The Yellowjackets made 48% (26-54) of their field goal attempts and connected on 44% (11-25) of their three-pointers.  They were led by Charlie Rasmussen (18 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists, 3 steals) and Finn Diggins (16 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, 7 steals, 2 blocks).  Landon Stevens and Gunnar Anderson each had 9 points and Anderson distributed 3 assists.

Leading scorers for the Cowboys were Adam Ohm and Tyson Piechowski with 9 each. Jonah Christensen led with 6 rebounds.  Breckenridge shot 50% (16-32) from the field and made 8-of-14 (57.1%) 3-pointers in the game.

"We got off to a rough start but fought hard after half time,” said Breckenridge Assistant Coach Derek Grahn. “We knew that we had a lot of young guys in new roles and always knew it would be a work in progress throughout the year. All of the guys work hard in practice and are continuously working to get better. We get back to the home court on Tuesday to take on Wadena Deer Creek."

Perham improved to 4-0 with the win.  They will play at DFG on Thursday.

Breckenridge has started the season with four straight losses.  The Cowboys will host Wadena-Deer Creek on Tuesday night and will play at Frazee on Thursday.
