Otter Boys Defeat Brainerd in CLC Basketball

Chance Fazio scored 11 of his team high 15 points in the second half, pulled down 8 rebounds, dished out a pair of assists and blocked three shots to help the Fergus Falls boys’ basketball team to a 59-44 victory over the Brainerd Warriors on Friday night.

The game was back-and-forth throughout the first half with nine lead changes and three ties.  Brainerd led 25-24 at the half, but the tenth and final lead change of the night put the Otters back on top.  After the game was tied 28-28 Fergus Falls went on an 11-0 run to take a 39-28 lead.  The Otters led by as many as sixteen points in the second half.

Ethan Olson finished with 11 points, 5 rebounds and 4 steals, Brock Kotschevar contributed 10 points, Dominic Aguilar had 6 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists, and Parker Jacobs led the team with 9 rebounds, 5 of them occurring on the offensive boards.

Senior Conner Powers scored 15 points to lead the Warriors and Ben Staehling finished with 11.

Fergus Falls improves to 3-1 overall and 2-1 in the Central Lakes Conference.  They will host Sauk Rapids-Rice on Tuesday night before traveling to Moorhead for a makeup game on Thursday, December 19.
