Jayna Gronewold (25 points, 7 rebounds, 6 steals), Jenna Fabre (11 points, 3 rebounds, 2 steals) and Summer Wigdahl (8 points, 3 rebounds) led the Rothsay Tigers in their 62-36 Little Eight Conference win over the Ashby Arrows on Tuesday in Rothsay

“We played with a lot of defensive energy and created some good opportunities offensively,” said Rothsay Head Coach Anita Heier. “It was a true team effort with all of our players contributing. This was a big win for us to get us going in the right direction.”

The Tigers controlled the game from the get go as they built a 32-16 lead by the intermission.  Poor passing and shooting haunted the Arrows early from which they never recovered.

The lone bright spot for the visitors was shone by Kalista Aamot. Kalista made a multitude of nifty inside moves to tally 14 points and, in what may be a first, collected 0 fouls. “Kudos also go out to Katie Bailey and Livy Johnson who each scored their first career varsity level points,” said Ashby Head Coach Alan Niemann.

Rothsay (1-4) will host Clinton-Graceville-Beardsley on Thursday and will play at Brandon-Evansville on Friday.

Ashby (0-4) will host Hillcrest on Friday night.
