Sabrina Fronning scored 22 first half points to lead the Fergus Falls girls’ basketball team to a 49-15 lead at halftime Tuesday night in Detroit Lakes.  The Otters went on to post their fourth straight win as they defeated the Lakers by the score of 72-25.  It was the Lakers first loss in five games to start the season.

Paige Pearson scored 14 points and Hannah Polejewski added 10 points, 4 rebounds and one blocked shot off the bench.  Fronning had 2 assists, 3 steals and 4 rebounds.  Ellie Colbeck had 8 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists.  Gretchen Davis and Carlie Meis had 4 assists apiece.

“It was great to see a lot of players get their first varsity point tonight as a lot of girls got to play a lot of minutes,” said Fergus Falls Head Coach Brad Strand.  “Sabrina Fronning really got her motor going early in the game and Hannah Polejewski gave us strong play off the bench.  Paige Pearson was very active around the basket.  We played great team basketball from start to finish and I really liked our effort.”

Alex Bettcher reached double figures, scoring twelve points, and Sarah Tangen added 7 points for DL.

Fergus Falls will host Willmar in a Central Lakes Conference game on Thursday night.
