Fergus Falls traveled to Cold Spring to face the Rocori Spartans in a Central Lakes Conference boys’ basketball game on Tuesday night. The Spartans led 37-34 at the half and the game was tied at 63-63 at the end of regulation. Rocori never trailed in the overtime period as they ended the night with a 73-69 win over the Otters.
With Rocori leading 50-44 with ten minutes remaining in the second half, Fergus Falls went on a 16-0 run to take a 60-50 lead at the six minute mark. Rocori tied the game with a 3-point field goal and the Otters had a chance to win it at the buzzer, but Brock Kotschevar’s 3-point attempt missed, sending the game to OT.
The Otters were led by Ethan Olson (17 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists), Chance Fazio (16 points, 13 rebounds), Cody Norgren (16 points, 6 rebounds) and Dominic Aguilar (13 points, 4-3’s, 5 assists). Abel Aho dished out 3 assists in the game.
Leaders for Rocori were Jaden Phillipi with 18 and Brett Sowada with 17. Andrew Anderson recorded a double-double with 15 points and 13 rebounds.
Fergus Falls will host Brainerd on Friday night.
