The Ashby Arrows took a 28-13 halftime lead in Underwood on Tuesday night and went on to defeat the Rockets 59-41 in a Little Eight Conference matchup.

Ashby was led by 21 points and 11 rebounds from Jacob CookNoah Johnson and Hunter Norby also scored in double figures with 12 and 11 points, respectively.  Jaden Norby chipped in with 9 points, 10 rebounds and 8 assists.  The Arrows shot 40% (25-64) for the game.

“We played very well for a stretch from the end of the first half through the first ten minutes of the second and built a good working margin,” said Ashby Head Coach John Holsten.  “The Rockets kept competing every possession until the final horn.  It was very impressive.”

Leaders for Underwood were Krosby Aasness with 16 points and Winston Heifort with 11.

“We started off way too slow tonight and couldn't get anything going on the offensive end in the first half,” commented Underwood Head Coach Evan Meece.  “Our intensity was not where it needed to be and Ashby took advantage of that.  Our second half was much stronger and we need to build off of that intensity moving forward.”

Ashby will host the Rothsay Tigers on Thursday night in another Little Eight Conference match-up.  Underwood will host Brandon-Evansville on Thursday night in a LEC contest.
