The Brainerd/Little Falls Flying Warriors jumped out to a 3-0 lead after one period and went on to record a 5-0 win over the Fergus Falls girls’ hockey team on Tuesday night in Brainerd.  The home team had 23 shots on goal compared to 9 for the Otters.

“Unbelievable fortitude against a great team tonight,” commented Fergus Falls Head Coach Tim Lill.  “That is the lowest shot total that Brainerd has been held to all season.  The Otters had 20 blocked shots and the final score doesn’t reflect the effort.”

Brynne Folden notched the first goal of the night at the 15:00 mark of the first period.  Josie Kramer and Gabrielle Smith assisted on the goal.  Fifty seconds later Kramer scored an unassisted goal, and at 16:26 Lindsey Booth made it 3-0 with assists from Smith and Kramer.

Taylor Larson scored the second period goal at 7:49 with Smith and Kramer assisting, and Booth added an unassisted third period goal, just 19 seconds into the period to close out the scoring.

Ana Jyrkas had 18 stops in the Fergus Falls net.  The Otters go to Willmar for a Central Lakes Conference contest on Thursday night.
