The West Central Area Lady Knights traveled to Ortonville Friday to take on the Trojans in a regular season conference match-up. The Knights came out of the gates ready to go and build a lead quickly. At halftime the lead was 60-15 and the Knights were on fire. The second half continued in the same fashion and the final score was 101-23 in favor of the Lady Knights.
“Tonight the girls played phenomenal on offense throughout the whole game,” Coach Eric Schoenbauer said and he then added, “We need to continue to have similar ball pressure in future games.”
The Lady Knights were led by Lexi Bright with 37 points, 11 rebounds, 9 steals, 6 assists and 1 block. Brynn Fernholz chipped in 15 points, 7 steals, 6 assists and 1 rebound. Claire Stark powered 10 points in the hoop and added 4 rebounds, 3 steals and a block. Hailey Bennett scored 10 points, to go along with 4 assists, 2 steals and a rebound. Teagan Nelson had 8 points and 5 rebounds. Kennedy Ulrich put in 6 points with 4 rebounds, a block and an assist. Kaitlyn Hansen had 6 points, 2 assists, 2 rebounds and a steal. Elizabeth Rustan had 4 points, 6 rebounds, 3 steals and 2 assists. Kaylyn Ulrich added 2 points, 6 rebounds, 3 steals and an assist. Brooke Anderson had 3 assists and a rebound. Halle Foslien had 2 rebounds and 3 deflections in the game.
