Lexi Metcalf stopped 12 of 13 East Grand Forks shots on goal as the Otters limited the Greenwave opportunities in the offensive end on the way to a 3-1 road win on Saturday afternoon.  Fergus Falls put 25 shots on goal in the game.

“That was our best team effort all season,” exclaimed Fergus Falls Head Coach Tim Lill.  “We outworked them physically and mentally, causing many turnovers and ultimately three dirty goals.  Our defensemen were outstanding, allowing thirteen shots to a team that averages thirty a game.”

The Otters scored at 1:22 of the first period when Ellie Andersen buried the puck with assists from Jade Zierden and Maddie Hulter.

Lexi McGary scored from Hope Goepferd and Vivian Karsnia in the second period to give the Otters a 2-0 lead.

In the third period Fergus Falls took a 3-0 lead on a goal by Jadyn Bye, assisted by Skye Norgren and Talia Nelson.

Fergus Falls (4-5) has road games at Brainerd on Tuesday and at Willmar on Thursday.
