The Brandon-Evansville boys’ basketball team went on the road and beat Swanville by a score of 76-60 on Thursday night.

“Every time I've gone to Swanville it's been more of a wrestling match than a basketball game,” commented B-E Head Coach Trent Hintermeister. “I thought we were sloppy with the ball at times and our defense was far from fundamental. It's clear we still have a lot to work on, but the season is young. We had foul trouble all night long and had to play with different lineups and rotations. I thought our younger guys, Tyler Bitzan and Titus Fuller, really stepped up tonight and played some big minutes for us when we had guys in foul trouble. Marshall Riedel had a nice floor game tonight and kept our guys composed down the stretch. Give Swanville credit, they have some guys who play really hard.”

The Chargers buried eight 3’s in the game, three of them coming from Fuller, who finished with sixteen points.  Tanner Bitzan scored 13 of his 16 points in the first half and Tyler Bitzan finished with 10 points.  Keagan Schiele added 9 points and two players, Riedel and Tony Schaffran contributed 8 points apiece.

Swanville was led by Nicholas Mettler with 22 points, making 10-of-12 free throws.  Jackson Thieschafer and Haden Chuba were also in double figures with 13 and 12 points, respectively.
