Perham Begins Season with Win Over Bemidji

Perham hosted Bemidji in a high school boys’ basketball contest on Tuesday night and the Yellowjackets held on for a 68-64 victory over the Lumberjacks.

Perham made 48% (24-50) of their field goal attempts and hit 29% (5-17) of their three’s.  They also made 15-of-19 (78%) of their free throw attempts.  The Yellowjackets held a 31-23 edge on the boards.

Perham was led by Charlie Rasmussen with 22 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 blocks.  Finn Diggins had 21 points, 12 rebounds and 5 steals, and Elijah Morris finished with 19 points, making 5-of-11 from beyond the arc.

Bemidji shot 45% (19-42) from the field and hit 45% (5-11) of their 3-pointers.  They also made 72% (21-29) of their free throws.

Leaders for the Lumberjacks were Gavin Luksik and Colten Jensen with 16 points apiece.  Quincy Wilson finished with 14 points.  Jensen and Ben Hess each had 7 rebounds.
