Wolverines Top Blades 4-1

The Breckenridge/Wahpeton Blades traveled to Wadena on Tuesday night and the two teams played a scoreless two periods of hockey before erupting for five goals in the third period.  The Wolverines scored four of them and recorded a 4-1 home ice victory.

Wadena-Deer Creek had the advantage in shots on goal with 37 to the Blades 29.  Hunter Wamre stopped 33 of the shots he faced in the Breckenridge-Wahpeton net and Wadena-Deer Creek goalie Josh Dykhoff allowed just one goal on 29 shots.

Lleyten Pettit got the Wolverines on the board just 57 seconds into the third period, assisted by Cade SchmidtChase Domier made it 2-0 from Wyatt Murray at 2:21 and Murray then assisted Daunte Leiran at 3:28 to give the home team a 3-0 lead.  A power play goal by Isaac Wohlers at 9:33 gave the visitors hope.  Jase Jensen assisted on the goal for the Blades, however, Pettit put the puck in an empty net at 16:35 to end the scoring.  Kade Woods assisted on the goal.
