The Ortonville girls basketball team was hit hard by graduation and first year Head Coach Trevor Keller inherits little varsity experience on his 2019-2020 roster.

“It was a senior heavy team last year and we lost several players to graduation and one junior when her family moved away,” noted Keller.  “We are returning a junior and a freshman that lettered last year, but losing 1,000 point scorer Jaiden Conroy will be a major blow as she was the leader for our team in many statistical categories.”

Senior Emily Ross (G/F) and sophomore Paige Seidell (C/F) are the two returning letter winners.  Key newcomers will be juniors Lauren Hicks (G/F) and Meg Moberg (F/C), and sophomores Kelly Erickson (G/F), Taylor Ross (G) and McKenzie Huebner (G).

“It is a journey this year with limited experience and a new system,” said Keller.  “I expect to get better as the year goes on.”

Keller, who will be assisted by Derek Guse, points to Ada-Borup and Parkers Prairie as favorites in Section 6A, while West Central Area and C-G-B are his picks to lead the Pheasant Conference.
