Crookston came out ready to play, and started the scoring at 7:36 in the first period. Otters responded at 2:34 with a goal by Riley McGovern. With the penalty line out for Fergus Falls, Landon Schulz fired in a short-handed goal, with an assist from Avery Kenyon-Woessner at 1:34. Scoring ended in the first period with the Fergus Falls Bantam B’s up 2-1.
Crookston shot in the only goals in the second and third period, ending the game over the otters by 1. Brady Metcalf played was strong in net, taking on 40 shots with 37 saves.
The Bantam B’s will be taking on Sauk Rapids Rice at 2pm and St. Cloud at 6:15pm both away on Saturday afternoon. They will be back on home ice Sunday to take on a tough Morris Benson team at 2pm.
