Perham Scores 60 Points in Win Over Roseau

Perham had 477 yards of offense on Tuesday night as the Yellowjackets posted a 60-18 victory over Roseau in the opening round of the Section 8AAA football playoffs.  Perham ran for 287 yards and added 190 yards passing.  Roseau finished with 238 (137 rushing, 101 passing) yards.

Dawson Kellogg led Perham with 130 rushing yards on 20 carries and Finn Diggins added 77 yards on 11 attempts.  Diggins completed 14-of-22 passes for 190 yards and 3 TD’s.  Noah Rooney pulled down 8 passes for 149 yards and a score.  Maddux Kovash caught two touchdown passes on the night.

Kovash scored the first Perham TD on a 5 yard pass from Diggins and Kellogg scored on a one-yard run with 4:48 left in the first quarter.  Diggins added a two-point conversion run and the Yellowjackets led 14-0.

In the second quarter Kovash was on the receiving end of another Diggins pass and Kellogg scored on a 2-yard run.  Kellogg also scored a pair of two-point conversions as Perham built a 30-0 halftime edge.

Roseau struck on the second half kickoff as Ben Olson went 77 yards to get the Rams on the board.  Jed Dunham scored on a 17-yard run with 7:24 left in the third quarter, cutting the Perham lead to 30-12.  Rooney then went 73 yards with a kickoff and Kellogg carried the ball into the end zone for the two-point conversion with 7:14 left in the quarter.  Rooney then caught a 25 yard pass from Diggins and Kellogg once again scored the two-point conversion as the lead grew to 46-12 after three quarters of play.

Diggins scored on a one-yard run with 9:19 to play in the game, giving Perham a 52-12 advantage.  A one-yard run by Olson made it 52-18 with 6:51 remaining, and a 20-yard run by Jordan Muench closed out the scoring for Perham.  Carter Aakre added the two-point conversion run.

Perham will travel to Pequot Lakes for a 2:00pm Section semifinal contest on Saturday.
