Junior quarterback Jaden Norby ran for three scores, scored on a pair of two-point conversion runs, and returned an interception for another TD, leading the West Central Area/Ashby Knights to a 42-6 quarterfinal playoff victory over Long Prairie-Grey Eagle.

Norby’s first TD, a 4-yard run with 6:18 left in the first quarter, capped an 11-play, 64-yard drive, and his two-point conversion run gave the Knights an 8-0 lead.  Long Prairie-Grey Eagle responded with a drive of their own that was stopped on downs at the Knights ten-yard line when Connor Nadgwick made a big stop.

The first play of the second quarter was a 7-yard run by Norby for a touchdown, increasing the Knights lead to 14-0.  A 28-yard run by Anthony Sykora with 8:34 left in the half gave West Central Area/Ashby a 20-0 lead.  Norby’s pick-six pushed the halftime lead to 28-0.

Norby found the end zone for the final time on the twelfth play of a 66-yard scoring drive, scoring from three yards out with just 45 seconds left in the third quarter, giving the Knights a 34-0 lead heading into the fourth.  They put the game into running time thirteen seconds into the fourth on an interception return for a touchdown by Jordan Lohse and a two-point conversion pass from JJ Sabolik to Lohse.  Gabe Pesta recorded the lone LPGE TD on a 5-yard run at 10:10 of the fourth.
