Hillcrest came out ready to play on their Homecoming night, but it was UNC's Jonah Howard's night in the end as the Warriors pulled out a thrilling 44-42 overtime victory on the road.

The Comets put a 13 play scoring drive together to take an early 7-0 lead over United North Central. The Warriors only ran 7 plays in the first quarter which resulted in a punt. The Comets scored quickly in the 2nd quarter with a 62 yard touchdown pass making it 14-0 and then scored again on their next possession making it 21-0 before the Warriors knew what hit them.  After that touchdown, the Warriors woke up and quickly scored making it 21- 8 with a 15 yard touchdown run by Jonah Howard and Vince Dailey scoring the 2 point conversion. The defense forced a 3 and out for the Comets. And on the next series, the Warriors put a 13 play scoring drive of their own with Jonah Howard punching it in from 7 yards out and again were successful on the 2 point conversion making the score 21-16 Hillcrest at halftime.

UNC started the 3rd quarter with the ball and put another 12 play scoring drive together with Brandon Miller bulldozing his way in from 1 yard out. Jonah Howard carried it in for the 2 point conversion and taking the lead 24-21. The momentum was in UNC's favor, but Hillcrest struck quickly with 68 yard pass completion and 2 plays later scored making it 28-24.

UNC had the ball going into the 4th quarter and Jonah Howard scored his 3rd touchdown of the evening making the score 30-28. The Comets put another drive together and were able to score making it 36-30, but they failed on the 2 point conversion try. UNC was forced to punt on their next drive giving the ball back to Hillcrest, but this time the Warriors defense came up big and forced Hillcrest to punt. UNC had no timeouts with under 3 minutes to go and had to start their drive on their own 47 yard line. Kolby Kiser connected with Jonah Howard for a 25 yard gain. 5 straight carries by Jonah Howard brought the ball down to the 3 yard line. UNC quickly got to the line and spiked the ball with 0.6 seconds left on the clock. And they stuck with what had got them back in the game, another dose of Jonah Howard. With Brandon Miller lead blocking, Jonah crossed the goal line for his 4th touchdown of the night making the score 36-36. The 2 point conversion failed and the game headed to Overtime.

UNC started with the ball first from the 10 yard line and Jonah Howard was able to get his 5th touchdown of the night and then he converted the 2 point conversion making the score 44-36. Hillcrest was able to complete a pass on 4th and goal from the 10 yard line making the score 44-42. The UNC Warriors made a great defensive play on the 2 point conversion and stopped the Comets short of the goal line to notch their second victory of the season with a 44-42 win.  Jonah Howard had career highs with 236 yards rushing on 40 carries and 5 touchdowns in a game UNC Warrior players and fans won't soon forget.

Defensive leaders for UNC were Brandon Miller with 7 solo tackles and 5 assisted tackles, Ivan Anderson with 6 solo tackles and 2 assists, and Eion Ness with 4 solo tackles and 4 assisted tackles.
