Ortonville Host Home Cross Country Invite

Ortonville hosted their Cross Country Invitational on Monday with Morris taking the team title in both the boys’ and girls’ competition.

On the girls’ side, Morris had 25 points, followed by Milbank, SD with 30 and Border West with 115.  Maddie Carrington (19:27.00) and Meredith Carrington (20:21.00) of Morris Area finished first and second, individually, while Yellow Medicine East runner Kylie Knollenberg (20:34.00) placed third.

Border West was led by Emily Franzese (22:26.00) in 17th place and Kilee Blume (25:17) in 31st place.  Ava Klindworth (26:28) was 34th, Lilly Stueve (28:00) 37th and Georgia Gallagher (28:28) 38th.

Brooklyn Conrad (22:38) of Ortonville placed 19th, while Elly Anderson (23:26) and Jaclyn Wiik (24:23) of the Trojans were 22nd and 27th, respectively.  Jasmine Hurlbut (24:41) was 30th.

Julia Schmidt of Border West won the 2000 meter JV race with a time of 8:04.

Morris Area won the boys’ race with 37 points, edging past runner-up Milbank, SD with 39.  Yellow Medicine East was third with 83, followed by Border West (100) and Ortonville (104).

Nick Batchelor (15:17) of Milbank won the individual race and Noah Stewart (15:24) of Morris Area was second.  Third place went to Bertram Munk (16:36) of YME.

Ortonville’s Nathan Neu (16:41) was fourth, Jacob Cloos (18:28) was ninth, Austin Eastman (19:16) fifteenth, Robert Angelo (24:42) 43rd and James Conrad (25:10) 46th.

Border West was led by Joe Arens (18:14) in eighth place, Dylan Bainbridge (19:34) in 17th place, Michale Franzese (20:34) in 21st, Cole Sykora (20:44) in 22nd, Jens Jorgenson (21:10) in 26th, Conner Goodhart (21:16) in 27th and James Drewicke (21:37) in 29th place.

Derek Lupkes of Border West won the JV race over the 2000 meter course with a time of 7:24, and Cody Klepel (7:51) or Ortonville took third.
