Class A State Cross Country Rankings

The Minnesota State Cross Country Coaches Association has released their current rankings in Class A.  Perham is number one on the boys’ side, with West Central Area ranked second.  The Yellowjackets are second on the girls’ side, trailing only Staples-Motley.

 

Rounding out the top twelve boys’ teams are St. James Area, Lac qui Parle Valley, Staples-Motley, Nova Classic Academy, Greenway/Northome/Kelliher, Heritage Christian Academy, Minnehaha Academy, Ely, Lake City, East Grand forks.

Emmett Anderson of Staples-Motley is ranked number one individually with Brandon O’Hara of Perham second.  Hunter Klimek of Staples-Motley is ranked third and Jacob Bright of West Central Area is fourth.  Perham runner Jacob McCleary is currently number 8.

Staples-Motley is top-ranked in Class A Girls, with Perham second, Albany third, Murray Country Central fourth and Fairmont fifth.  Lake City is sixth, followed by Belle Plaine and Luverne.  Pequot Lakes comes in ninth, Annandale is tenth, Stewartville eleventh and Canby/Minneota twelfth.

Individually, Natasha Sortland of ZMKW is ranked first, Morgan Gehl of Murray County Central is second and Ava Hill of Mesabi East is third.  Tenley Nelson of Luverne is ranked fourth, followed by Kyanna Burton of Staples-Motley, Calia Chaney of Pequot Lakes, Jade Rypkema of Nevis, Keegan McAuliffe of Marshall is eighth, Grace Drietz of Canby Minneota is ninth, Kristine Kalthoff of Albany was tenth, Laura Thompson of Fairmont was eleventh and Jacey Majerus of Lake City came in twelfth.
