Over the weekend the Barnesville volleyball team traveled to the Minnesota Showcase volleyball tournament where they saw some great competition.

The Trojans went 1-1 in pool play beating Wabasso (25-23, 25-9) and falling to Mabel Canton (25-13, 25-15). That moved them into the silver bracket and they started out Saturday morning facing Canby and losing two tight sets, 25-20, 25-23.  That was followed by a loss to Henning (25-20, 25-13) and another to Russell-Tyler-Ruthton (25-22, 25-21).

Leaders for the Trojans were Sam Passa (38 digs, 7 kills, 1 ace serve), Jordan Tschumperliin (11 digs, 5 solo blocks, 10 block assists, 10 kills), Emily Condon (66 digs, 2 ace serves), Lexi Bolgrean (39 digs, 9 kills, 4 ace serves), Olivia Sorensen (9 kills, 4 block assists), Katie Newell (29 set assists, 8 digs, 3 ace serves), Kim Maesse (23 digs, 25 set assists, 1 ace serve), Lauren Halverson (6 kills, 5 block assists) and Emily Bredman (16 kills, 6 solo blocks, 4 block assists).

“It was a fun weekend where we played against some of the best teams in Minnesota and we worked to improve our game,” said Head Coach Megan Askegaard. “Emily Condon earned her 1,000 dig over the weekend and we will recognize her at our home match on Thursday night.”
