The Hillcrest volleyball team attended the Hancock Tournament on Saturday and lost their three matches to Hancock (25-21, 25-20), Lac qui Parle Valley (25-21, 25-21) and Yellow Medicine (25-14, 25-23).

Statistical leaders for the Comets were Olivia Stanton (13 set assists, 17 digs, 10 service points), Molly McGuire (8 kills), Amanda Dekok (8 kills, 10 service points, 7 digs), Kate Peterson (13 service points), Natalie Zwiers (13 kills), Audra Ewan (16 set assists, 6 service points, 12 digs), Mackenzie Foss (11 kills, 25 digs) and Madi Foss (2 kills, 12 digs, 7 service points).

“I felt like we played competitive in each of the matches despite the “stifling” temperatures in the gym,” reported Hillcrest Head Coach Debi Foss. “Most of the matches had tight scoring with the exception of one set during the last match of the day against YM. Even though we struggled in a few rotations, our young team continues to work through those times and keep learning the game. We head into a busy week with three games. Monday we will travel up north to play NCE/UH, Tuesday our Homecoming match vs. Hancock, and Thursday in Battle Lake. Tuesday's home match will be played at Kennedy High School since our gym floor is still being worked on."
