Piper Andrews scored three times and Anna Anderson added a pair of goals to lead the Fergus Falls girls’ soccer team to a 5-1 victory over Melrose on Tuesday.

Andrews scored her first goal just three minutes into the game crashing the net and converting a perfect crossing pass from Anderson.  Melrose tied the game with a goal at the 14 minute mark.  With four minutes to play in the first half Andrews scored an unassisted goal.

In the second half, Anderson finished a scrum in front of the net and poked it in at the 26 minute mark.  Two minutes later Andrews completed her hat trick with a solo run to the goal.  Anderson finished the scoring with a penalty kick with six minutes remaining in the game.

“The game felt very choppy,” said Fergus Falls Head Coach Ben Jurgens.  “It was difficult to get any flow, but the girls hung in there and midway through the second half we started moving the ball better.”
