Strong Serving Game Nets Otters 3-0 Win at Apollo

The Fergus Falls volleyball team served up 11 aces and had only four missed serves in their match on Tuesday night at St. Cloud Apollo.  The Otters swept the Eagles 3-0 (25-21, 25-21, 25-13), improving to 2-1 on the season.

Junior Paige Pearson led the serving effort with a 19-for-19 performance and 4 aces.  Jade Zierden (11/12 serving, 1 ace), Sabrina Fronning (10/11 serving, 2 aces) and Hannah Prody (8/8, 1 ace).

Kaia Strom distributed 19 set assists.  Prody led the attack with 9 kills. Fronning had 4 kills and 9 digs, Zierden had 10 digs and 2 blocks, Katie Strommen came up with 2.5 blocks and was a perfect 6-for-6 on the serving line with one ace.

Leaders for the Eagles were Kathryn Blommel (3 kills, 2 ace serves, 1 block), Paige Cox (5 kills, 1 block), and Kendra Horn (5 ace serves).

Fergus Falls will host St. Cloud Tech in another Central Lakes Conference match on Thursday night at the Kennedy Secondary School Gold Gymnasium.
