UNC Drops Football Opener to Hancock

The United North Central Warriors started off their football season with a 19 play drive all the way down to the Hancock Owls 9 yard line ending in a fumble. The Owls took over and scored with a 53 yard run before the end of the 1st quarter. The 2nd quarter Hancock scored 30 unanswered points to take a 38-0 halftime lead on the way to a 44-8 victory.

The Warriors came out 2nd half and were not done fighting yet. Hancock scored once, but failed on the 2 point conversion making the score 44-0. The Warriors put a drive together in the 4th quarter and scored on a quarterback sneak by Kolby Kiser and Jonah Howard punched in the 2 point conversion to make the final score 44-8.

Kiser finished 11-of-18 throwing the football for 123 yards and had 15 rushing yards.  Brandon Miller led the Warriors with 45 yards rushing and Howard finished with 44 rushing yards and 16 yards receiving.  Eion Ness (3 catches, 50 yards) and Tyce Lee (2 receptions, 48 yards) were the receiving leaders for UNC.  

Defensive leaders were Ness (6 solo tackles, 3 assisted tackles), Lee (5 solo tackles), Miller (6 assisted tackles), Howard (3 solo tackles, 3 assisted tackles) and Ivan Anderson (4 assisted tackles).

No Hancock stats have been reported.
