“We came out with high intensity for our first home match of the 2019 season opener with a packed house,” stated Head Coach Megan Askegaard of the Trojans. “The girls were playing with confidence right from the start. We know that we are a young team and that we are going to make some young mistakes, but I thought tonight we really hustled on the floor to pick up all the balls that we could get to. We did not have many errors on the defensive end as we ran through balls and picked them up. Our offense was electric with many players attacking on the net from all angles. We kept our self out of serve receive and into offense very quickly tonight. Ada serves the ball well and we were able to give our team good opportunities on the net. The have a couple players who attack the ball well and put up a big block on the net as well. Our setters did a great job putting the ball in our scorers’ hands tonight.”
Leaders for the Trojans were Sam Passa (20/21 serving, 2 aces, 15 kills, 8 digs), Kim Maesse (17 assists, 17/18 serving), Emily Condon (11/12 serving, 10 digs), Lexi Bolgrean (17/19 serving, 1 ace, 10 digs, 10 kills), Jordan Tschumperlin (8 kills, 10/10 serving, 1 ace) and Katie Newell (12/13 serving).
