The Battle Lake Battlers opened the 2019 volleyball season on the road against the Wheaton/ Herman-Norcross Warriors, losing in straight sets.

The Battlers got off to a solid start but quickly lost their momentum.  Senior Maycee Tolifson from the Warriors went on a 15 point serving run that the Battlers could not stop. The Warriors took set one 25-7.  The Battlers were able to regroup and find some momentum in sets two and three, but could not stop the strong offense of the Warriors losing both sets 25-18.  The Battlers improved with eat set and were only down 19-17 in set three until Tolifson went another serving run to finish the match.

Makenna Tysdal played a solid match for the Battlers going 13/14 serving and added 14 digs.  Grace Van Erp (6/6), Halie Johnson (7/7), and Leah Koltes (6/6) all served 100% with Van Erp adding 3 kills in the third set.

The Battlers are off until September third when they travel to Evansville for their first conference match.
