Fergus Falls scored 77 points on Monday as they competed in the Central Minnesota River Run at the Vintage Golf Course in Staples. That placed them third behind Staples-Motley (21) and United North Central (64). Detroit Lakes was fourth with 91 points, followed by Ottertail Central with 126 and Long Prairie-Grey Eagle with 145.
“The Otter Girls had a great debut in Staples today,” said Head Coach Niki Welde. “We had tough rainy conditions to compete in. The course was wet and soft, making for a challenge. With Makenna Stenstrom (25:09.9) and Ellia Soydara (25:47.6) chasing close behind. Miah Schmidt, Natalie Fransen and Emma Rund also both posted great races to start the season with.”
