The Henning volleyball team looks to follow up their 21-8 record from 2018 with another successful season in 2019.  With several returning starters and a deep bench the Hornets have high expectations.

“We are a well-rounded team with a lot of experience coming back,” commented Head Coach Kristy Finck.  “We have a deep bench, so if someone is having an off night, there is someone else who can step in and play.  I believe if we can pass we can beat the best of teams around, so passing in all areas, including serve receive, digging and free balls, is our focus this year.  In order to have success the girls know they must get their setter the ball and be on the offensive end of the game.”

Returning letter winners include seniors Sydney Eckhoff (S/OH), Abi Eckhoff (RS), Serena Greenwood (OH/MH), Autumn Grasswick (RS), Grace Nyhus (DS) and Kylee Mesker (DS), juniors Megan Rinicker (MH) and Megan Weber (S), sophomore Grace Hammer (RS/MH) and freshman Ally Hart (OH).  Freshman Faith Fisher (DS) will be competing for varsity court time.

Finck is assisted by Jessica Iliff, Sara Truax and Naomi Horn.

As for the top teams in the Park Region Conference and Section 6A, Finck had this to say, “I believe you cannot look past any team, because every night is a different night of playing and anything can happen, so we must be ready to face the best from every team.  Wadena/Deer Creek and New York Mills will be tough in the PRC, while CGB, Barnesville, Underwood and Pelican Rapids will join them as top teams in the section.”
