Losing Nick Foss (2018 All-State Player), Eirik Primavera and Markus Fluge will definitely create some holes at key positions for the Hillcrest boys soccer team. The question early in the season will be how to best fill those spots and Head Coach Rod Jensen and assistant Nathan (Spud) Jensen will be busy evaluating the new talent they have and figuring out the best path to take to success on the pitch in 2019.
The Comets return Ethan Ness, Zajen McArton, Jowell Seymour and James Cho from their 12-6 team of a year ago and will looking to varsity newcomers Hakon Hagerup, Vetle Myntevik, Kristian Maestad, Severin Breck, Kristian Bormo and Knut Willy to make an immediate impact.
The Comets finished second, behind Class A runner-up Bemidji, in the North half of Section 8A and Jensen says Bemidji, Pelican Rapids, St. Cloud Cathedral, St. Cloud Apollo and Sartell will all be in the section race in 2019.
