Perham Falls to Foley in AA State Consolation Final

Foley (26-4) won the Class AA Consolation Championship with a 6-3 victory over Perham (23-4) on Friday, June 14 at Joe Faber Field in St. Cloud.

Foley gained the early command in the game with two runs in the first inning, followed by two more runs in the third to take a 4-0 lead. In the top of the sixth inning, Perham rallied with three runs before the Falcons ended the run with two more runs in the bottom of the sixth to clinch the win.

Foley outhit Perham 7-5 in the contest as Tyler Mattson crafted a five-hit complete game victory that included five strikeouts. At the plate, Foley's Noah Novak had two hits and two RBI, while Mark Dierkes added two hits and one run.

Perham was led by Carter Mulcahy with one hit, one RBI and one run scored in the contest.  Mulcahy was named to the All-State Tournament Team.  Dawson Stevens and Josh Jeziorski knocked in runs for the Yellowjackets, while Sam Still and Noah Rooney scored the other runs.
