Hurricanes Improve to 7-0

The Fergus Falls Hurricanes ran their winning streak to seven games to start the season with a 9-2 victory over the Dent Wildcats on Friday night at American Legion Field at DeLagoon Park in Fegus Falls.

 

The ‘Canes supported winning pitcher Thomas Bosek (6IP, 7K, 8BB, 2H, 0R) with 9 runs on 15 hits, including a home run by Tosten Mann (2-4, HR, SB, 2R, 3RBI).  Eric Salvesen (3IP, 3K, 1BB, 5H, 2R, 1ER) picked up the save with three solid innings of relief.

 

Fergus Falls scored two runs in the fourth, two in the fifth, two more in the sixth and an additional two runs in the seventh before adding a single run in the eighth.  Dent scored single runs in the seventh and ninth innings and stranded fifteen base runners in the game, failing to take advantage of the nine walks issued by Fergus Falls pitchers.

 

Darin Stanislawski (2-4, 2R), Pete Gaustad (2-3, R) and Salvesen (2-2, RBI) joined Mann as offensive leaders for the Hurricanes.

 

Fergus Falls is now 4-0 in Countryside League action.  They will play their next game on Friday, June 14 at Pelican Rapids at 7:30pm and then will travel to Blufton for a 1:30 contest on Sunday, June 16.
