“The girls set a goal and it was to get back to sections and that’s exactly what they accomplished today,” said Fergus Falls Head Coach Ben Jurgens.  “I am so proud of them.  Not one girls got off to a good start today and it forced them to play great golf the rest of the way to post a number we could use.  These girls learned how tough they were mentally today.  A big thanks to Coach Dan Sternberg today for his great geographical awareness in being able to cover as much ground as possible and get to the girls to talk when needed.”

The Otters were led by Greta Christenson with a 90.  Ellia Soydara fired a 93, Amy Johnson a 96 and Mady Eklund a 99.  Other scores for the Otters were a 113 from Thea Eklund and a 115 from Lexi McGary.

Shelby Busker of Detroit Lakes turned in a 72 to earn medalist honors.

The Section Tournament will be held in Bemidji on Monday and Tuesday, June 3 and 4.
