DGF finished first at the sub-section 30, Section 8A boys track and field meet on Thursday in Barnesville, recording 209 points. Frazee was second with 123, followed by United Clay-Becker (88), Ada-Borup (77), Pelican Rapids (68), Fertile-Beltrami (58), Barnesville (46), Park Christian School (16), NCE/Ulen-Hitterdal (4) and Rothsay (3).
Pelican Rapids had three individual champions with David Johnston in the 800 meter run (2:08.68), Eli Sytsma in the high jump (5-11.00) and Zane Brosowske in the pole vault (11-09.00). Sytsma was runner-up in the triple jump (41-01.50) and fourth in the long jump (19-08.25). Sebastian Centeno placed fifth in the 400 meter dash (55.51).
Jacob Morgan won the 100 meter dash (11.67) and was runner-up in the 200 meter dash (23.94) to lead the Barnesville Trojans. Damian Camperud qualified for sections with a third place finish in the shot put (44-00.50) and a fourth place in the discus (131-08).
The top four individual qualifiers in each event move on to the Section 8A meet, along with four wildcard qualifiers from all four of the sub-section meets. All ties for the fourth best wildcard spots move on. The top two relays in each sub-section advance, along with two wildcard relays from all four sub-sections.
