Perham Suffers First Loss, Rebounds with Win

The Perham baseball team played twice on Tuesday, losing for the first time this season as Wadena-Deer Creek handed the Yellowjackets a 6-0 defeat, and then rebounding for a 9-2 win over Park Rapids Area.

Justin Dykhoff (7IP, 4H, 0R, 3BB, 10K) limited Perham to four hits as the Wolverines improved their season record to 19-1 with their eleventh shutout of the season.   Dykhoff also got it done at the plate, driving in three runs with a home run and scoring twice.

Maddux Kovash had a double in three at bats for Perham.  Josh Jeziorski, Noah Rooney and Bensen Nyhus each had a single.  Dawson Stevens (5IP, 4H, 3ER, 5BB, 5K) took the loss.

In their win over Park Rapids Sam Still (3IP, 1H, 1ER, 1BB, 3K) and Maddux Kovash (2IP, 1H, 1R, 0ER, 1K) combined on a two-hitter as Perham improved to 17-1 on the season.  Offensive leaders were Carter Mulcahy (2-5, RBI, 3R), Kovash (2-3, RBI, R), Stevens (2-5, 2B, 2RBI, R), Jeziorski (1-1, 2B, BB, 2RBI) and Rooney (2-3, RBI, 2R).

Perham will close out their regular season schedule with a game at Fergus Falls on Thursday.
