The Perham Yellowjackets took all seven matches from the Fergus Falls Otters as the Section 8A Boys Tennis Tournament got underway Monday in Detroit Lakes.  The Yellowjackets then went on to defeat Minnewaska Area, advancing to the finals against top-seeded Thief River Falls.

“I was pleased with our effort, but Perham is still a bit too deep for us in multiple spots,” commented Fergus Falls Head Coach Titus Christianson.  “Four of our six seniors competed in their last high school event Monday, Blake Schuetzle, Blayne Schuetzle, Caleb Danielson and Declan Young.  We have an outstanding group of young men here that will be doing some great things in the next phases of their lives.”

The Otters will have Isaac Ahlgren and Joseph Connelly competing in the individual singles tournament on Tuesday, as well as the doubles teams of Maveric Kalenberg and Colton Partain, and Noah Tarczon and Matthew Niblock.

The Perham doubles team of Carter Cresap and Gunnar Anderson is seeded third.  The Yellowjackets other doubles entry is the team of Ryan Murphy and Anthony ReeseJosh Peterson and Drew Birkeland are competing in the individual singles tournament for Perham.
