Greta Christenson fired an 80, placing second at the Central Lakes Conference girls golf meet hosted by Rocori at Rich Springs Golf Course.  Hannah Boraas of Alexandria was medalist with a 76 as the Cardinals posted a winning team score of 328.  Brainerd was second with a 337, followed by Sartell (349), Willmar (354), Fergus Falls (367), St. Cloud Apollo/Tech (410), Rocori (413) and Sauk Rapids-Rice (644).

“We set a goal to break 370 and we shot 367 so we are very happy with our team result,” commented Fergus Falls Head Coach Ben Jurgens.  “Greta’s 80 is the lowest score by an Otter in a very long time.  We are happy for Greta.  She put in the work last summer and you are starting to see she is starting to find her swing and putting stroke at the right time.  Ellia Soydara posted an 89 which is a wonderful score to back up Greta’s 80.”

Mady Eklund turned in a score of 97 and Amy Johnson had a 101 to round out the team scoring.  Annika Jyrkas contributed a score of 103 and Lexi McGary had a 105.

“Mady and Amy know they have the capabilities to be in the high 80’s or low 90’s this time of year,” added Jurgens.  “Annika and Lexi gained more valuable varsity experience and today was actually Annika’s first varsity meet so her 103 is very exciting to see.  On a side note, Mady received Central Lakes Conference Athlete of the Week last week with her lowest score ever (89) at Pebble Lake Golf Course.”
