Fergus Falls hosted the Otter Girls Golf Invitational on Friday at Pebble Lake Golf Course.  Detroit Lakes won the team title with a total of 316 strokes.  Brainerd was second with 323, followed by Bemidji (339), Fergus Falls (357), Staples-Motley (360), Moorhead (364), Badger-Greenbush-Middle River (366), Pequot Lakes (368), Roseau (384), Thief River Falls (386) and Pine River-Backus (386).

Shelby Busker of DL was the medalist with a 71.  Her teammate Anna Cihak was second with a 77 and Anna Krieger of Brainerd took third with a 77.  McKenna Burhans placed fourth with a 78 and Taylor Offerdahl was fifth with an 80.

Greta Christenson led the Otters with an 82.  Mady Eklund shot a 90, Ellia Soydara a 92, Amy Johnson a 93, Lexi McGary a 101 and Ella Mayer a 106.

“Greta is in a really great place right now,” said Fergus Falls Head Coach Ben Jurgens.  “Her hard work is paying off.  Today’s round of 82 is as solid of a round as we’ve had in a really long time.  Mady, Ellia and Amy are starting to make shooting in the low 90’s their norm, but I think they have another gear and I think we will see that by sub-sections.  Ella and Lexi played two nice days in a row which is great to see.  Our team score of 357 shows how hard this team has worked this season to become competitive.  It is our low score of the year and I am so proud of these girls.”
