Perham Boys Finish First at HOL Track and Field Meet

The Perham boys track and field team won the Heart O’ Lakes Conference meet for a third consecutive year on Tuesday in Hawley, scoring 158 points to edge out D-G-F (150.50) for first place.  Third place went to Thief River Falls (55), followed by Frazee (53), Breckenridge (40), United Clay-Becker (39.50), Pelican Rapids (33) and Barnesville (29).

Perham won three of the four relay races, taking first in the 4x200 (1:35.17), 4x400 (3:33.76) and 4x800 (8:37.32).  Isaac Scheidecker was a double winner in the 110 hurdles (15.04) and the long jump (19-11.50).  Other champions were Jacob McCleary in the 800 meter run (2:02.21), Brandon O’Hara in the 1600 meter run (4:31.56) and Colton Kostynick in the discus (14-09).  Kostynick was second in the shot put (45-08), McCleary took second in the 1600 (4:34.02), Bailey Evenson was second in the 3200 (10:11.40) and Elijah Morris took runner-up honors in the high jump (5-07).

Third place finishers for the Yellowjackets were Chase Belka in the 800 (2:04.40), Clayton Anderson in the 1600 (4:41.17) and the 3200 (10:18.18), Levi Richter in the pole vault (11-06) and Dylan Lysne in the triple jump (39-03.25).

John LaFond was fifth in the 400 (54.51) and the triple jump (37-07.25), Tesfaye Young placed fifth in the 3200 (10:42.15) and Dakota Perry was fifth in the discus (113-08).

In the shot put, Karter Kasowski was seventh (39-09.00) and Connor Kostynick was eighth.  Connor also placed seventh in the discus (110-04.50).  Dylan Lysne was seventh in the 100 (11.66), Carter Aakre was seventh (9-06) and Karter Kasowski eighth (9-06) in the pole vault, Colton Hackel was seventh in the long jump (18-06.50) and Brandon O’Hara placed eighth in the 800 (2:09.07).
