The Pelican Rapids softball team defeated Lake Park-Audubon by the score of 13-2 in 5 innings Monday night in Lake Park. As a team, the Vikings pounded out 15 hits, led by Natalie Williams with 3 hits. Vanassa Booth, Kiera Booth, Sarah Thompson, and Grace Peterson each had two hits in the game as well.
Eighth-grader Sylvia Pesch pitched the first three innings, allowing one unearned run while surrendering four hits and striking out one. Sophomore Holly Bergquist came on in relief to close out the last two innings, she allowed one earned run on three hits while striking out two batters.
With the win, the Vikings move to 7-6 on the 2019 season.
