Brandon-Evansville swept Ashby in a softball double header on Friday, winning 12-10 and 9-1.

The Chargers took an 11-0 lead after three innings, but Ashby put ten runs on the board in the fourth inning to cut the lead to one.  B-E pushed across an insurance run in the fourth and held on for the win.

“We came out strong in this game and played a very solid first three innings,” reported B-E Head Coach Kasi Sieling.  “In the fourth Ashby found the gaps, strung hits together and took advantage of our hesitant defense to put together a rally.  Fortunately, we were able to work out of that fourth inning and finish the game strong on top.  We saw solid hitting throughout our lineup with eight of our starters collecting a hit, including Haddey Zastrow’s home run.”

Leaders for the Chargers were Bailey Schaefer (3-3, 3B, 4RBI, 2R), Zastrow (2-3, HR, 2RBI, 2R), Mikenna Pattrin (1-3, RBI), Alena Shores (1-3, RBI), Maddie Otto (1-2, 2B, 2R), Korrie Randt (1-3, 2R, 2RBI) and Sydney Schaefer (1-3, R).

Ashby had nine hits on the day with Anissa Heinrich, Amelia Barry and Josey Ness coming through with two hits each.  Heinrich launched a 3-run home run in the ten-run fourth inning.  Barry, Ness, Madison Bestul, Heinrich and Anna Thormodson delivered RBI hits in the inning.

In game two the Chargers collected 15 hits, led by Bailey Schaefer (3-4 3R, 2B), Mikenna Pattrin (2-3, 2R), Maddie Otto (2-3, 2B, R), Olivia Otto (2-3, 2B, 2RBI, R), Kerryn Lund (2-3, RBI, R) and Zastrow (1-2, 2RBI).

Kalista Aamot, Courtney Koefod and Taleeyah Johnson all had one hit for the Arrows.  Madison Bestul (5IP, 13H, 9R, 2K, 0BB) took the loss.
